Hi,
yes it is still secure - if you're on the PayPal site for example, you can tap View - > Properties and you'll see that the encryption strength is 128 bit.
Also, as a general rule, always make sure (pocket pc or desktop) that you see "https://" as opposed to "http://" when you're on a site that's supposed to be secure.
