No, you don't have a lemon. Many hx2750/2755 owners have experienced this. You don't even have to reset (despite the warning), just ignore it, the pda will work fine. FWIW, this "error" has come & gone on my 2755. You might try enabling - disabling - and then reenabling the protect tools, and the error just might disappear - at least it did in my case. Enjoy your iPaq, it's a nice machine, a cool tool.
