miniSync™ for HP iPAQ hx2790

Hi
I'm new to the IPAQ and wondered if the minisync has to be used with the software in the host pc? or can I just plug into any pc and way hay???? I can't see how it would work. Please help.

you need some sw on the pc (active sync)

Active sync or Card Export ( do a search in the forums there are plenty of links)
