Wel, the battery did not really explode, it just blew up when charging my 3 year old HP Ipaq 2200

. The battery is now few millimeters bigger than before, and doesn't fit in the battery compartment: blew the lid off (broke it). I use a regular HP battery, Ipaq and charging device.
So I called HP: I thought a new lid was the least to expext. But no: "the Ipaq is nearly 3 years old, so you should buy another battery". Yes, it can appearently bleow up a little bit, bad luck".
I do not appreciate their response. When I had my palm pda many years ago run over by a truck (yeah I know, I left it on the roof of my car), they replaced it - 2 years old!
Does anybody else have had problems with (nearly) exploding HP battery's?
