I just bought an hx2490 off ebay (yes I know) for £79 ($160) and am wondering if I got a good deal? It is described as being in "fantastic" condition, comes with all original accessories and is from a 99.4% (155) feedback seller.

It is a big step up from my beloved X30 but no matter how much I want one I could never afford an X51(v) and saw the hx2490 as a decent option for me.

Any thoughts?

You have done really good at that price. I have an ipaq hx 2790. Although it is not a VGA screen, it has one of the nicest QVGA screens I have seen. The contrast and depth of color is just wonderful on these machines. You will love it. Enjoy !!

Certainly all the reviews I've read are positive but most of them are a couple of years old. VGA was what priced me out of buying an x51v but I still use a CRT monitor on my home PC so I don't exactly keep up with modern things!

Well...

My hx2490 arrived today and it is as it was described. There are no marks on it whatsoever and the screen is crystal clear. Even the flip cover is in tact and unscratched. It is working perfectly and came with the following:

desktop cradle with mains adapter
separate mains charger
separate sync cable
black KRUSELL case - well worn but still OK
user manual

I'm currently like a pig is sh....you know what I mean. I will no doubt need a tiny bit of help in the near future but I promise to search first!
