Screen Problem (pics included).

My hx2755 is having issues with the screen. They started as a small dot and spread into two vertical lines. It appears to be a surface defect rather than software, because a soft reset, hard reset, clean reset, and various backlight levels, and they have all been ineffective in resolving my problem.

Can anyone offer me a diagnosis based on the pictures attached?

did you drop it or sit on it or something? looks like what keys would do if they were in your pocket with the ppc...

Thanks for the reply.

This was actually supposed to be my brothers pocket pc. I picked it up uber-cheap and used it as an experimentation device for about three months. He says he didn't drop it, bash it, or otherwise abuse it. It has one of those plastic iPaq flip covers on it, so I don't think it could have been keys.

Thanks for the link. It's what I was looking for. I don't think I'm going to go through with the repair, because the pocket pc cost me less than $100 anyway, and I am unwilling to invest any money in it.

I have some ideas for what to do with it:
1. Install Linux on it (unfortunetly cannot find linux designed for it yet)
2. Perform surgery, take lots of pictures, post on Aximsite/MobilitySite so iPaq users can see the guts
3. Use it to test out all the VB.NET Apps i am writing, so I don't blow up my Axim with untested software. And so that I can check to see how it works on QVGA screens and a different device.
4. I wonder if there is a way I can extract parts from it to mod my ax?

5. Anyone wan't to try something crazy?!?!
