Hi all,

I have bought a HP IPAQ hx 2490 from Germany.
But I didn't known that I can't change language settings easily. :o
Is it possible to do it by donwloading the .exe called 'ROM update' on hp.com, choosing another language than first one ?
Is it legal ?

Hi, roldiver and welcome to the forum.

As long as you can get hold of the German ROM and the language that you want then you can use the process found here.

It will guide you through it step by step, but make sure you read it very carefully.

Nevertheless, it concerns windows mobile 2003, do you think it could work the same way with windows mobile 5.0 wich is the os version of the hp x 2490 ?

The procedure work great and I have just tried it to upgrade a French OS at version '1.00h' to English OS at version '1.00.1h' on a HX2790 IPAQ at one go!!!
