Boot sector on memory card

Is it possible to make the memory card part of the boot sector on a Hx2410 running WM2003SE?

The memory card can only be what it is:
A memory (storage) card.

I work for a company distributing Symbol in South Africa. One of the engineers at Symbol told me that they are able to do this with the MC70 running WM5. I hope that this is also possible on my iPaq.

Best of luck to you :)
Ask the engineers at Symbol how to do it, as you stated they know how.
BUT, the Symbol is very different from the iPaq....

They have come back to me with how they do it for the MC70, I have tried it on my iPaq. It does not seem to work. I will keep trying and post the results if I have any luck.

What are you trying to do? I think you may be able to create a batch file that references files on the storage card and that will run upon start up. Would this work?

Julie,

I would like to save space on my system memory and install my today plugins to the SD card. However we all know what problems this causes if the plugins are not in the system memory. I use both FlashDash and Wisbar plugins and have very little system memory left.

I would be keen to hear more about your solution.

Thanks.

Tweaks2k2 will help.....alot.
Also, most programs can be installed to a memory card.
Wisbar Advance/Desktop are some of those programs.
Also, SKTools will allow alot of changes for storage/location of files.

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but might be worth playing around with. You could create a batch file that is designed to run automatically whenever you reboot your IPAQ. Mort Script is a free software that you can use to create batch files and MortScript is designed to work with the autorun.exe feature (this is what will allow a batch file to be executed automatically whenever the IPAQ is rebooted). I have used it a little and gotten somewhat familiar with it.

Using this software was a little tricky and slow going at first. There is documentation on the website, but if you need any help with it, let me know and I'll try to help you out.

David,

My problem is that when I soft reset my iPaq it hangs (during the reset) if the today plugins are not loaded on the system memory.

- at least this is what I think is happening.

I have looked at Tweaks2K2 and cannot see the solution.

Julie,

I have downloaded the software and will try it out. I think this is the solution that I am looking for.

Thanks again!
