i have a hx2410 and it has chinese version of windows mobile 2003 on the unit. will i be able to upgrade windows mobile 5.0 using this version of the windows mobile.

You can always try. The WM5 upgrade CD has the downgrade function (the option is called "Upgrade to Win2K3SE", quite confusing)

If you are also hoping to change the language of your Pocket PC by buying a different language update package, you'll probably be disappointed. It won't be as simple as reflashing with the new upgrade, and I haven't read where anyone has done it in this way.
