Can wi-fi compact flash card be used on hx2415?

I got my ipaq hx2415 2 years ago. It works very well, including connecting to internet via wi-fi. I never used bluetooth, I tried it a week ago. It did not pair to any bluetooth device. It's OK, I don't care. BUT after that the device can not make wi-fi turn on. Every time the power of device turns on, a box pops up titled "Unrecognized card". Under the title it reads "Enter the name of the device driver for this card. For information see the card manufacturer's documentation". Under that, an INPUT box with "Unknown Card in Socket 2" highlighted in blue. Under it there are 2 options: "OK" and "Cancel".
Since I don't know the name of the driver, I sometimes tap "Cancel", sometimes tap "OK". Then the box disappeared.
Then I tap the wireless icon on the lower right-hand corner of the Today screen to try to turn wi-fi on. Tap "Setting", appears "Configure Network Adapters". Tap "Manager", it shows "Driver not loaded". Then tap "version", under Wireless LAN Information all show "Driver not loaded". The self test shows wi-fi PASS.

I tried soft reset, hard reset, ROM update (although the ROM used is the newest), take battery out for 30 seconds...., the problem remains.
I used HP active chat to discuss this problem with 2 specialists, all their suggestions did not solve the problem. I was asked to send it to HP to repair. The repair center told me the system board should be replaced and the price is more than $200. Definitely it is not worth repairing.

Now I'm thinking to buy a wi-fi compact flash card but don't know whether it can be used in order to make this ipaq connect internet. Does anyone have an idea about it?

I think the name of the driver is NDIS.Dll or at least that's the name of the driver on my hx2415.

I found this file, not using file explorer, but pocket explorer or wimr. It is in ROM and hidden file. But when I was asked the name of the device driver I entered NDIS.dll or windows\NDIS.dll. Still can't make wifi turn on.

I'm not really sure what the problem is, but I have read many threads over the last couple of years from users who reported the same problem. Unfortunately, I have never seen a consistent resolutions for it.

You've already tried all the techniques I've seen for this.

Have you tried the "Self Test?" Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Self Test

julie

UPDATED: Actually I see you did run the Self Test too.

You may need to send the pocket pc in for repair. It could be that the WIFI card is damaged.

As to your original question about using a WIFI CF card. These types of cards include software drivers. So you'll install the drivers and then you should be able to use the card.

BTW: I use Bluetooth on my hw2415 all the time and have never had any problems with Bluetooth or WIFI.
