Attention again buyers of HX4700. New thread for more readers

If this makes you mad Chris, I mean not to.

But here is a new thread related to my other one:

I was contacted by Ecost.com (Rome) and he verified with me that they are an authorized dealer of HP products. Ecost.com is taking the appropriate steps to get that retailer HP link to include them as it should.

A couple of things solved:

1) The HX4700 listed on Ecost.com was listed as available in 2-5 days. Rome contacted the purchaser and unfortunately, that information is incorrect. The real date is Late Aug/ Early Sept.

Also, as we already knew, the HX4700 simply carries the business SKU number. There are no differences except for price. This SKU carries a higher price than does the consumer SKU (4705)


2) Good news, the HX4705 was reconfirmed by Rome and the Ecost.com purchaser that it still shows an availble date of
8-18-04.

This is to rectify my misunderstanding, HP's misunderstanding, and stressing out over 100 HP IPAQ enthusiasts.

The reason why Rome cancelled my order without disputing my charge that they were not authorized HP resellers is because he did not hear that part of my message. He was just doing what any wonderful salesperson does: If you want to cancel, he will cancel your order. He will not fill your ears with a bunch of nonsense. He is a good person and deserves your business.

So to get the HX4705 with full HP capable warranties from ECOST.com with and expected arrival date of 8-18-04 For 579.00. Call 1-800-555-3613 ext 4903. Talk to Rome. And yes that really is his name. Much cooler than Jason.

I have a question- how can ecost get the device before HP? Also does anyone know if the RX4705 will be compatible with accessories from the 5400 series or any other series ie expansion sleeves, etc.

Thank you Jason and Rome! That is the best price ever! I am so happy that I kept searching the internet...it really pays! When I talked to Rome, he said that they are expecing like 300 or so and they have taken around 150 orders. I thought they would have taken a lot more than that! They are smart allowing preorders because then they get a lot of business locked in. I like preordering because I don't think you have to pay any additional money. I am wondering if the handling fee goes away if you don't preorder though. Oh well,... What I'm thinking about is that they are expected to ship on the 18th and I start school the 23rd (Monday). Therefore, I will probably not get to start school with the new one. I don't want to pay an extra $10 for overnight. I cannot wait to get this in the mail.

Lastly, you'll notice my avatar...that is a picture of me holding my ipaq (in the future). I have a special program for my ipaq 3835 that lets me see into the future...

I really like this forum because it's not huge like a lot of the others. It's got only a select number of users (the best of the best) lol.
