I have the $600 gift card for CompUSA and I want to purchase the HX4700 with it. However, I believe that when CompUSA get this item, it will sell it at least $650. And with tax....it will run up to almost $700.

I know that I can get this unit about $600 on the internet (such as J&R). I just don't know how to avoid this problem. It is a waste to have to pay $100 more but I have no choice.

I don't think I have any solution to this problem. :-(

But think of it this way - you are basically getting it for $100, since the $600 is in a giftcard. You get the device right away, and you can take it back if something is wrong with it. I don't know how flexible returns are with online retailers.

How exactly do you talk CompUSA into letting you 'upgrade' to a newer model? If your unit is defective, don't they just send you a refurbished model? Or one of equal or lesser value?

So are you saying that you will give me your iPaq 5555 with the TAP replacement plan and in exchange I will give you the $600 gift card for CompUSA?

Where do you get a TAP plan from? CompUSA or HP? How much did it cost?

TAP plans are from CompUSA and normally cover damage or defects not upgrades.
