The others (Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc.) do. I am looking for a PPC for my wife and called ASUS today (1-866-732-7108) to see if their policy is still the same and was told by the tech support guy that nothing has changed. There was a recent similar discussion thread about this on either this site or Aximsite and a member mentioned that he found some "unofficial" ASUS PPC ROM updates somewhere on the web. No way in hell that I will depend on the "underground" to keep my PPC up to date. I prefer to have full legitimate support from the manufacturer/retailer.
I completely agree with you! I got upset having to mail my PDA away for repeair (obviously unavoidable), I can't imagine having to do that for just a stupid ROM update I could easily do myself (especially since I have an UPS to avoid that dreadful power inturruption). Ugh, I want my Personal Digital Assistant where it's supposed to be, with me offering Digital Assistance to me personally! Screw that, no downloadable ROM updates.... NO THANKS!

Does WM2003SE allow programs to be fully installed in ROM, i.e. no dlls or registry entries in RAM ?

Or is MS moving towards this for the next version of the OS ?
Even if the registry and DLLs are stored in RAM, you still enjoy the benifit of having much smaller back-ups on your cards. I know with my Toshiba, I get very pissed off at the fact that such a LARGE chunck of my memory card gets used up if I want to carry a back-up.
