Wi-Fi and Bluetooth control?
Have been doing some research for a new PDA and initially kind of liked the new Dell Axim X30 until I found the Hx4705 which I fell in love with. However, I have a concern that was a weakness in the X30 and was wondering if anyone knew about the 4705. On the X30, both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled together and cannot be activated separately - wasting precious battery life. What about the HP unit? Will I be able to select which to turn on?

I can do that on my iPAQ 5550 now with the iPAQ Wireless application. Also, in reviews of the 6315, the iPAQ Wireless application allowed independent control of Bluetooth, WiFi and GSM/GPRS.

I can't imagine the 4700 would be different. (Of course, HP has been making lots of stupid decisions lately, so who knows. )

Senko, I can not confirm that the 47xx series will for sure have independant control, but I will say that the X30 control is not part of WM2003 SE, it is Dell's own control. It is stupid (as I mentioned in my review, http://www.aximsite.com/x30review )

I can say with almost 100% certainty that there will be independant control....

This is what most iPAQs use:

I agree. If the controls are anything like the h4100 and the h4300 then things will be separate.
