Quoted from customer service: "HP is having manufacturing delays, will not be able to deliver product until 11/20/2004"

HPshopping.com has no date, as we all know.


So, maybe it is time to grieve and perhaps get something else.

Face the fact that NOBODY but HP knows when. I don't give a rats ass who you know or how much you SPENT with any given company and thus they must know and will now tell you the truth.

Get a grip. I come to these forums to see whats new and exciting and DAILY am bombarded with "I talked to..." "I read.." "I was told..." its going to be out on XXX.

Sweet Jesus It makes me want to stop coming to this site.

Too many are OBSESSED with this device and its inevitable release date.

For my part I had just purchsed a 5555 and was keen on info as I might swap for the newer unit, but I'm really quite fond of it as I knew I would be. So I'm on to plan "B" which is to wait for Christmas. Happy Holidays!

The attitude and choice of words above are not good. Perhaps you can choose to not read some of the threads or posts. Some people do care when. You obviously do not but that is no reason to spew such negative responses. I am not fanning the flames of discontent. I am merely requesting that you or no one else attack, belittle, offend, or jab at others on these forums. Please read the Welcome statement on the home page of this site. We would like to keep that community intact.

The Buzz has driven a lot of people to do and say strange things but this forum is best served without the negative attitudes.

Im not going to apologize for what plenty are thinking.

Every single day, all you have to do is look at the posts on this board, I come to this site looking for info and help on certain issues and I also frequent this forum because I too have a 4705 on order.

It is just down right a waste of time anymore because every single day all I read are posts from someone who while at their Dr. for an annual nut cup/cough session decided to call their resident psychic and asked them for a tea-leaf reading on when this thing is going to be out. It is out of control. Not one single person has a single shred of actual, SOLID intel. I say that becauase it was suggested earlier that the information posted here is good and usefull and valuable.

Thanks for posting the rules for me though, maybe I will get banned. I am sure all those who advertise with this board will be happy to know how quickly and easily users are banned and thus, won't be reading their ads.

I for one love to read new info everyday and if it becomes boring I just don't read the posts. I know in my circle of friends that my PDA addiction is not really undertsood so it is great to have a place like IPAQHQ where you can expose how obsessive you really are.

I have the same scenario! I start speaking in terms of Hardware, software code, and specs. and my friends look at me as if I am Boomhauer (King of the Hill Cartoon) or Don Vito (Viva La Bam on MTV). It is like some jibberish or foreign language. This place to me is home and so I like to treat it like home....ya know... look after everything and try to keep it as clean as I can.

I hear ya man. I can sympathize with you for not wanting to wade through speculation to get to facts or solutions.

However, I kind of look at it as if the place (IpaqHQ Forums) is a well kept orphanage. The place you reside in (Forums) is well kept with rules and stuff, but you still have some that do not think as you do, some that are loud, some that imagine things, see things, want things, some bully's, some who hope for things, and yes even whine from time to time.

Sometime ya just gotta get out of the room to keep your sanity. To me the equivalent of getting out of the room is to analyze the Thread titles and decide if that is one of the rooms I want to go in to.

No problem on the reminder though. I just hope that I am tactful and I hope any information I provide is not viewed as fodder by anyone. I like being in the room (forums) and having fun without tension. Heck I have a 9 to 5 for that.

People who post inflammatory messages are merely seeking attention. I hope hx4705 gets a stern warning, and I would request forum members ignore him.

I, for one, enjoy an occaisional obsession. Checking the posts on a daily basis, hoping to hear about the 4705 release date is harmless and sort of fun.

I just keep looking here to see if anyone has been receiving their orders yet. I'm patiently awaiting mine and hoping that I might pick up some specific detail between now and then.

Did anyone save a copy of the user manual from the FCC site before it was blocked? If so, I'd like to take a look at it. Drop me a PM if you have it.

Go over to brighthand were some F-stick posted today that he got one at fry's before it was even on the shelf.

I have no problem with informative posts. However the insanity that is the daily rumor about when/where is just wearing thin.

As for my wanting attention... Yeah, I made the controversy here. If it wasn't for the half thought out posts stating what must be fact about the impending release dates... I would have nothing to say. Therefore nothing would need to be heard.
