[New user] Waiting for hx4700
Hey there!

I've just ordered a hx4700. I never had a pocket pc, this will be my first one and i don't know what to expect. Anyway, I've read some of the threads here and I "heard" about the screen protectors. I understand the use of it, but i would like to know if the normal use with the pen can scratch the screen with no screen protector?!

Any tips for a portuguese newbie???

Thanks!

Welcome to the site!

By all means please don't use a pen on your screen. Only use a stylus on your screen. Using a screen protector can prevent scratches on your screen. Also screen protectors can help with visibility.

What is a stylus??? When I said "pen" I meant the black, thin "stick" that comes with the pocket pc. Is that "stick" the stylus you refer??? And if it is, does a normal use with the stylus scratch the screen???

Thanks

Yep... That is the stylus.

After time the stylus can start leaving tiny scratches on the screen depending on your use. A screen protector can go a long way to help prevent this.

Thank you very much. My hx4700 should arrive this week, I'll try to buy a case and a screen protector ASAP. I allready know that some are buggy and I'll run the test and fix it if necessary!

Many thanks to you and everyone else here, you've been very helpfull!

No problem. To also help you and your new experience with the iPAQ I would recommend you taking a look at the tutorial "What Can I Do With My iPAQ". You can find it on this site located here. It will give you some good pointers about getting the most out of your iPAQ. Ready for a full course meal?
