Pocket PC Utilities?
Does anyone have any thoughts on these two programs? Are they comparable, is one better than the other?

Spb Pocket Plus 2.1 and Battery Pack Pro - NEW! 1.1.1

I'm also considering getting Calligrapher and Phatpad for note taking since I don't have a keyboard just yet. Also, do you have to be very knowledgable with PPC in order to take advantage of Tweaks2K2 v2.7.1?

One last thing, is there a way to install programs specifically into "Storage" memory vs. "Program" memory? Or can a program be migrated after it's been installed? Thanks in advance.

Pocket Plus is a must.. PhatPad + PhatNote and CalliGrapher are practically musts. Tweaks2K2 is pretty self explanitory - no l33tness needed.

Yes, you can specify where to install to upon installation. When it asks "Do you want to install this programme into main memory?" Hit "No" then select your storage card.

I found spb p+ caused a significant lag on my today screen redrawing on my 4700. I do own bpp too but haven't installed it yet.
I've been using dinarsoft's utilities extensively and I'm very happy with all of them. I might give ilauncher a try though (sbsh.net) as it's just been upgraded and a today screen app launcher is probably all I miss from spb & bpp.

Thanks guys for your input, it's really appreciated. It's sometimes hard to know whether or not to trust reviews in magazines. Personally, it helps me to hear people’s real world experience with programs.

Now to decide which programs to buy, let me ask one last noob question (for now).... what's the easiest way to back up your hx4700? Do I have to buy a program or can it be done with the stock OS? Thanks again to all of you.

Well I use the built in OS utility for backing up. It is pretty simple and it works for me. I back up to the CF card and I just used it yesterday when I had to hard reset. Works good.

Hubtime,

Duh! I feel like an idiot (shows you how much time I've had to play with Hotsync), just saw that option. I went ahead and did a full back up, let me ask you, by backing up does it save all the programs I have installed or just files that I may have created?

In other words if you do a hard reset like you did, will the restore give you all the programs and settings you had prior to the reset (Like windows XP)? Thanks for your help.
