File Explorer question
Is there anyway to edit the properties on the File Explorer on our hx 4700? Here's the problem, most of my documents have long names and everything ends in "..." I would like to remove the date and size that are displayed to allow the name to extend across the screen.

Is this possible?

I don't think so. However, it can be done with Resco Explorer 2003. Resco Explorer is highly functional (WAY better than File Explorer) and I would highly recommend spending the money to get it.

Resco Explorer is excellent - but if you want to see the complete file name there are free solutions available - I use Total Commander as my file explorer replacement - this give you the ability to see the whole file name (and a whole lot more)

<====There is a link in the Freeware section of my "View MyPDA" page

No idea - but it will cost nothing to find out

I haven't heard of any reports of any issues though.

How does it do that? In TotalCommander you can resize the width of the columns, I didn't see anything like that in Resco so as a result I did not purchase it after the trial expired...if you could tell me how to do that it would probably change my mind about getting Resco.

In Resco Explorer, click 'View' and then 'Show Header'. Then you can resize the columns.

I am using the TotalCommander for many many years on my pc's. Also the pda version works fine and is free! I can highly recommend it.

Hi all.. I use TotalCommander on the 4700 and have had no display problems.. I even set it to real vga using (se_vga) works great!

Nods... I used and still have totalcommander installed.. it handles the icons nicely... but the gsfinder has more features.
- File type association manipulation
- shift and drag n drop mode.
- built in file search
- Send to
- Network connec/disconnect, activesync pc link and ir recieve.
- open file with parameteres
- open with a specific program "choose program"
- views wihtout any specific icons (to speed things up.. i didnt notice any faster responses)

these are the functionalities above total commander

though i will say total commander handles icons/vga icons in QVGA... much better they are smooth and crisp.. for some reason gsfinder displays them not so good (in QVGA mode).

either way those two freeware utilities are great.
