Who has received their Piel Frama?>
I am really debating waiting for the Black Piel Frama which is still on pre-order or waiting even longer for the vaja. Then the Bellagio has some real benefits. I have memorized and categorized every option and accessory but have never actually seen any of them except the Krussel, which is a great case for under 30.00. For any of you that have seen the others, which is really the best looking professiona/dress case. Best worksmanship and over all appearance? Money aside, which just looks best?

I have the Black Piel Frama and it's very good, execellent workmanship, perfect fit and great removable belt clip.

Well worth the 60 Euros.

I had been under the same debate for myself but I also was looking at the Sena case and that is what I have decided to order couldn't wait for the Vaja I really would prefer magnetic closure. Althoug Vaja cases look so sharp.

If it's any help a colleague has a Vaja for another PDA, and my 4700 Piel Frama is easily of the same quality.

Both the Sena and E&B cases have hx4700 series flip cases with magnetic closures. The Sena cases are supposed to start shipping today (11/17).

Still Waiting
I pre-ordered a 4700 Piel Frama from cases.com and am still waiting. I phoned on Monday and they are expecting a big shipment that should cover all the pre-ordered items. Those that ordered them should get an email confirmation when it has shipped which I was told might be later this week(ish). I assume that covers people like me who ordered for international shipment.
I check my email regularly in anticipation. I don't have a lot of patience.
It's not that i am a sad git who get's overly excited about trivial things like this.
Honest.

I to could not wait for Vaja, so I purchased a Piel Frama case for my 4700. The quality and fit of the of Piel Frama is pretty much equivalent to Vaja. The only thing I wish is that the flip top cover covered the CF and SD slots instead of leaving an opening to exchange flash cards while the case is closed. But that's only a preference, I'm sure a lot of people probably like that feature.

This is just typical... I got impatient waiting for my Sena case to arrive... so I ordered me a black Piel Frama. Just as I was about to cancel my Sena case order, I get an email "We have dispatched your order" from Sena... Oh well, at least I'll be able to draw up a comparison for you all. I have the Piel Frama right now (just arrived today). The leather really is high grade - very soft and stinks of good quality leather . The manufacturing quality is very good... except for a few scuffs where the leather has been rubbed against a surface whilst being stitched together

Its a nice, snug fit. It does add quite a bit of bulk to the device, but its worth it for the protection. It may be worth inserting something stiff (maybe just cardboard) into the flip cover, because with nothing in there... there's very little protection for the screen.

Theres no chance of putting this in the sync cradle with the case on, but you could use a travel USB sync cable.

One thing that worries me about the Piel Frama is the very thin section around the stylus silo... it seems that it could easily rip, or maybe if the leather begins to crack it could fatigue. Other than that, I'm very happy with it indeed!

(First image shows thin section of leather, second shows scuffs)

Overboard again!
Well I am convinced I want the vaja, ordered a Piel frama in the meantime, then they told me it would be a while before I would get it so I ordered a Krussel as well.

I ordered the Piel Frama as well as the Covertec that I used for my Tungsten and the Proporta. Here's my review:
Quality of manufacturing is outstanding for Covertec and Proporta, Piel Frama leather and stitches are much less good and the closing (sorry no native speaker) is not magnetic.
Proporta is a very clever clip in system but heavy and bulky but it protects maximum.
Covertec would be my favorite BUT they choose to change the magnetic closing to a very bulky one that does not have much power and opens easily.
So nothing is really perfect. I am still undecided which cover to use.
BTW my 4700 survived a drop from 2 Meters onto asphalt with the side with just some little bruises but technically absolutely fine, made my heart stop almost

At the moment I clip off and on the serial cover which I find is OK as the HX4700 fits then into my pocket and to clip it off is a snap.

Best regards

Bernd

My Piel Frama (Black) arrived and I was pleased with the quaility. I wasn't too sure about the gap in the leather for removing the CF/SD cards or stylus whilst the cover is closed (why would i want to do that). Unfortunatly I didn't see this feature on the product pictures - more fool me eh?
The only major problem I have had is with the belt clip which pinged apart the first time I used it dropping my hx4700 onto a stone floor and spreading the components of the belt clip over a wide area (losing some). Cases.com are looking into getting a replacement clip. My advice is to glue the damn thing shut - it seems to be only held to gether by 4 teeny plastic lugs.... An accident waiting to happen.
Would I buy another? Probably not. I'd look for an alternative because of the CF/SD issue (not to mention the belt clip).

I have the red Piel Frama and the only reason for the opening for the cards would be for removing to use the cards in a reader, or maybe a SD/Cf slot accessory ? but that seems overkill to say the least. However apart from that I am impressed with the quality, havn't tried the belt clip yet and that does sound worrying but I have a proporta flip ( black) for work so the Piel will be inside pocket bound !
