A Total Solution to hx4700 VGA DVD Ripping
I have been dicking about with the problem of getting DVD's ripped to PPC VGA for ages and have posted comments on other threads about using DVDtoPPC and other tools to get the job of converting DVD to a hx4700 done in a way that is effective and efficient.
Today I was trying to watch a Terminator X on my hx4700 and it was AWFUL I thought I had it cracked. I can't be arsed to spend a million hours doing the same thing as all you people out there trying to get the same result.
There has been a LOT of waffle. TOO much waffle.
WHAT IS THE ANSWER? Can a moderator help us here. This seems to be a big issue. A recommendation of the prefered and optimal solution should be available from diagnosing the previous threads (idiots like me DO need guidance) so can an intelligent person work out the final solution? I would like to see on ipaqhq someone put out a definitive guide to us idiots (yes in include myself in that catagory) to do a proper job on DVD ripping for PPC (VGA).
Lets see a sticky soon.

Read this thread here:

The Super DVD ripper is not free, but I found it is easy to use and get the best result. I have tried a lot of DVD ripping software and this is the best.

Of course there are several FREE programs out there but you have to go through many steps such as converting it to .vob files then use another program to convert it to divx...etc....but the Super DVD ripper does easily.

I paid for this program and I love it. I have ripped so many movies:

1. Spiderman
2. Matrix series
3. Shrek 2
4. Chronicles of Riddick
5. X-Men 2
7. James Bone (Die Another Day)
8. Finding Nemo
9. The One

...more to come

I encode it either in 1500 kbit/sec or 2000 kbit/sec and it turns out great. I also ripped only FULL screen version because it looks better on the HX4700 screen

By the way, always remember to download and install the divx or Xvid codec when you try to use one of these ripping software. The divx or Xvid codec is FREE.
