Firewall and AntiVirus
Again I intend to be a an idiot. Can anyone (moderators included) confirm if a Firewall and Antivirus programm is required for PPC SE. I wouldn't like my wife to find out about Betty Blue with the Sillicon implants. Her details are on my PPC....
I would rather they stay that way...
What should a mildy security conscious person do?

Hey, the word idiot can get you banned here! j/k

Seriously, firewall software for your PPC is not really necessary. It wouldn't do no good to prevent access to certain files on your PPC if someone is using it. Antivirus software at one point was not necessary but it will become one with the rise of viruses written for the PPC. Airscanner Mobile Antivirus and F-Secure Antivirus are two examples of Antivirus software for the PPC. There are others.

What you really want is a way to secure your files on your PPC so that others cannot access it if they have your PPC. You can do this by password protecting your files or encrypting them. Take a look at this document as it has some good information for you.

Lmao, I'd rather her find out her husband is cheating on her but personal issues asside you do not have to have a firewall or antivirus. I can't gather much from your brief description but there are no "real" known pocket pc viruses so there is no need to waste the space on your memory. There are a few if you are really that paranoid, but none would be of any real use.

I connect to the internet via a Netgear DG834G wireless router at home, and via a cisco pix at work. Obviously the pix is better (dedicated firewall) but the netgear has a built in firewall. If you connect via your desktop then the desktop firewall will protect you.
I use f-secure ant-virus, but it's never found anything.

I would expect that since there is not alot of viruses that will affect the PPC floating around yet.
