Thinking of getting a hx4700
Hey guys

been a reader of these forums for a while now, been looking to get a PDA to help with organising myself with uni etcetc. Since i got some money to burn i was thinking of getting a hx4700 - mainly for use as an organiser and multimedia device while im waiting on the bus etcetc. I saw one at Myer Sydney CBD and i was like wow the screen is beaauuuttiful! and it really didnt look that big as it looks in the pictures in the review.

Got a few questions:

ive got quite a few divx/xvid files ranging from 640x324 to 640 x 352, since the hx4700 is 640x480, does this mean i wouldnt have reencode the video files?

How is the battery life, would the standard battery allow me to watch a 2hr movie comfortably? Obviously with wireless and bluetooth enabled it will be alot less (but i dont have wireless yet - still thinking of whether it would be worth shelling the $$$ out)

Also is there any way to install Chinese language OS on the hx4700? When i was at Myer it didnt have chinese lang support from the settings window so im wondering if it is at all possible or do i have to send it back to HP?

thanks guys!

You should be fine. Betaplayer (a free app) will play those puppies

With bt/wi-fi off I watched Airplane. Battery went from 100% to 74%.

Don't know this one, I have enough problems with English.

jinxiong,

You can try to install the Monster Chinese from Maction.

http://www.mactiontech.com/english/monster_chinese.asp

This might be the only one work for Hx4700.

But since I have installed it for trialing, I have been able to find how to use the handwriting recognition program yet.

Good luck.
