PC II card adapters
Do you have any advise? I have just purchased the 4700 and have Verizon broadband wireless servise with a PC 5220 -PC type II card. Are there any adapters for CF II to PCII cards you know of? Or any other solution?
Thanks,
Steven

If its wireless... surely you can use the integrated wireless of the hx4700? Or is it GPRS? If so, you might have been better getting a bluetooth phone with this data tariff and dialing up this way. Im sure there are CF to PCMCIA type II adaptors... use google.

Yes, there is a CF to PCMCIA adapter available. I believe there is one available at semsons.com. However every PCMCIA card may not work correctly. This has to do with two issues. The first is power requirements and the other is the necessary PPC drivers for the card. A good number of PCMCIA cards do not have PPC drivers available for them since the cards was not intended to be used with PPC devices.

I use the card (Audiovox PC 5220
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...edPhoneId=1517) on my laptop to connect wireless thru Verizon broadband service. I was hoping to connect to the 4700 with this card to avoid lugging the laptop all the time.

The only adapter I seem to find is the http://www.semsons.com/comflastopcc.html
Not sure if there is any others out there.
Thanks for the reply,
Steven

Do you know if this is the only adapter? The power specs seem OK- the card is 32-bir Cardbus interface (3.3 V) The question is the PPC drivers for the card. I’m surprised that no one else would be looking to do this. It’s a great option for mobile Internet? Has anybody used the Sprint CF card in the 4700 for wireless Internet?

Yes, that is the card that I have and it works with some PCMCIA cards. On that page there is a compatibility list of PCMCIA cards that will work and have a link to the necessary drivers. I don't think that your card will work properly with this adapter.
