Anti-virus recommendations?
I've just been notified that access to my company's network from my hx4700 will not be allowed until I have some anti-virus software installed. I'm not happy about having to shell out $30 or $40 plus updates, particularly when not *every* employee with a PDA has done so.

Any suggestions, pro or con on Norton, McAffee or Airscan?

Thanks!

That doesn't surprise me. Most corporate networks want to control what devices is connected to their network and minimize the threats on their network. If they allowed everyone with PDAs to connect to their WANs then the company can be open to risk.

I have not personally used a virus scanner on my PPC but if and when I do I will probably go with Airscanner first and then Norton. This is for the simple fact that Airscanner has already been in the PPC business for awhile. I have used their other products so I have dealt with them before. Airscanner just has a longer track record of developing software for the PPCs.

FWIW, I use Norton. It's pretty unobtrusive, and seems to behave well. The outright purchase price, I think, was around $20 USD, and I've just come up with the annual renewal notice. I'll have to find out what they're going to soak me for that soon. Otherwise, I think it was a good choice for me, and updates are done automatically and painlessly when I sync. Good luck, whichever you choose.

I use McAfee VirusScan PDA. Since I exchange files with my desktop computer at work and surf wirelessly at home and at Wifi Hotspots, I don't want to take a chance.

I don't notice any difference in performance with or without.

Where can McAfee be purchased/downloaded? All I have seen in the past on McAfee's site is a price for multiple end-users. Nothing for an individual purchase. (?)

It wasn't easy to find, but try this link - http://us.mcafee.com/root/Package.asp?PkgID=151
