VGA into 4700
OK, does any one know how I could get the VGA output from a laptop on to my 4700 screen.

Basically, I have an app. that runs on my laptap, which is plugged into my car. It would be very useful to see the output of the app. whilst driving. Currently I use a co-driver, however, if I could use the small screen of my pda mounted on my dash, it would make life a lot easier...

Answers on a postcard...

No, it is not possible, however, you can use VNC to wirelessly connect to the laptop and it would pretty much be the same, just maybe a little slower.

Stranger still ...
At the risk of making your iPaq into a big wad of peripherals and cables, you could theoretically use the LifeView FlyGrabber CompactFlash Video Capture Card in conjuction with a VGA-to-NTSC converter, since the FlyGrabber's software can give up to a 320x240 preview image.

Hey, I didn't say it was a GOOD solution

That is very interesting! Never knew they made those. But the resolution leaves some to be desired.

You don't need to buy a thing.... that is... if you already have a wifi enabled laptop. If not, you will need a wifi card. You will need to get VNC for both your pocket pc and laptop also - both free allowing you to control your pc from your pda.

Nor did I. I happened upon it yesterday. I really was just looking for an excuse to mention it

OK, stroke of luck. Seems my LapTop has a video (composite) out. Good ol' Sony Viao. So the question now becomes, what's the easiest way to get a composite output onto my 4700's screen????

I would think the only way of getting composite output onto your 4700's screen is the FlyGrabber mentioned above. I have no clue how well it works, I don't think anyone here has ever used one.
