Will these apps work?
Hi, I have just put an order for an Ipaq4700 and was wondering if the 4700 has any problems with any of these programs. I hear that there is a lot of compatability issues with the 4700 and a lot of applications because of the VGA thing. Thanks in advance.

Hi abb1,
I can tell you that PocketBreeze, ContactBreeze and Betaplayer all work very well on an hx470x iPAQ. The others I am not sure of.

Cant you enlarge the text in VGA mode? I mean, what is the point of having 640x480 VGA if nobody can read the text because it is so small.

Windows Mobile allows you to enlarge your System Text Size setting to a readable level, but Pocket Informant doesn't seem to be affected. Most of my other apps are perfectly legible.

PI may allow you to set your text size within the program itself, but I wouldn't know; I don't use it. I just looked at it long enough to see if it filled the screen. Sorry.

I can vouch for Pocket Weather and Pocket Streets, both work well. I have found that the built in Pocket Informant though does not always show all my meetings which have been set up in the pre-installed Calendar function

Even the Pocket Informant does not get affected by changing the text size in the settings, there are font size setting in Pocket Informant itself which can set independently from the OS setting.

Do you have a filtered view set-up? I have never known PI not to show all meetings correctly.

Possibly those meetings do not have an assigned category and you have that setting switched to do not show

Well guys, it looks like that I will not be getting a 4700. I was just informed by ebay that the seller that I got the 4700 from had his membership revoked and is currently being investigated for fraud and that I pretty much have been ripped off . I just lost $499 US and no HX4700 . I tried to contact this seller and there is no response, so it is confirmed- I was ripped off!. Now that my money is gone, I won't be able to afford one for some time unless I can find one at a reasonable price somewheres.

Sorry to hear about this

Did you use paypal to pay for the item? - if so contact them.

If you paid by credit card contact your card issuer and they should be able to sort it out.

Yeah, I paid by PayPal and filed a dispute. They said that they are going to investigate and give him 30 days to reimburse the funds. I doubt it will happen though. I looked at his transactions and he sold over $4000 US to people in two days and collected the money. All his feedback was bogus and all those users have been revoked as well. The sad thing is that even though his account is banned, there is nothing stopping him from doing the same thing under a different name and address. I am seriously about to give up on ebay. I got a lot of good merchandise and good buys there, but this is rediculous.
