What is wrong with all of you?
We all know that a Pocket PC is mini computer, but why do we need to base our buying decisions on how well a game can be played on it? Go buy PSP when it comes out, a Laptop Computer or a Nintendo DS. I'll leave some stuff later on my PPC devices once y'all come to your senses about gaming on these things!

Believe it or not there are some people that plays quite a bit of games on their PPC. The serious gamers will factor in how well games can be played on a PPC but it will not solely be their only factoring decision.

BTW.... Welcome to the site!

That's a pretty big assumption, everyone here bought their PPC for games... oh dear, what a pointless and quite blatantly attention seeking post. Anyhow, for what it's worth, I initially decided to buy my PPC after hearing about the various ways to watch DVDs on it. I make lots of long train journeys so this seemed like a good idea, but also, mobile email/internet/messenger/mp3 and yes, GAMES all helped my decision to buy the hx4700.

So in answer to your question...

"why do we need to know how well a game can be played on it?"

...because in addition to everything I mentioned above, I want to play games. So it's bloody handy to know, and expect, my £400 will allow me to do that. Alright?

Better than describing a ppc as a mini-computer, I remember seeing a picture that on one side had a pile of electronics devices and on the other side an early Ipaq. The idea was the Ipaq replaced the others. Maybe a little over stated, but the idea was on the right track.
The little things can replace a lot, even my old Franklin Planner book. But the point is different needs for different folks. Each of us can have our own list, and more important our own priority order of what is important for the tasks expected of the ppc to do.
You are extremely arrogant in taking upon yourself to judge the priority of these tasks/programs for anyone else's list of requirements for their pda purchase. Unless you are going to contribute the funds, keep your comments to suggestions and experience descriptions of helpful info for another -- not to bagger anyone into your narrow view of "how it should be" according to DigitalPC8.
As Blueradish said above, that attitude will be met will various degrees of responses -- unless you are determined to be just trolling -- then there could be a different response from our group.
JMHO... Ron...
PS -- I don't do games much at all.

Yes - congradulations on a briiiiliant first post! And yes, I agree that you made some pretty big assumptions.

The psp and nintendo bs are heavy, and large. And quite frankly, my boss doesen't like it when I bring in a gaming console to work.

Secondly, the games are more expencive and are usually not that fun after a while. Not to mention all the propietary format bs that handheld consoles have. Good luck getting all of your CF and SD cards to work right.

That in mind, I will probly get a PSP when it comes out. I like the graphics, but thats just about it.
