Secure Digit VS Compact Flash
I am debating between an SD or a CF. Both are 1G, Sandisk and Ultra II...

From usability perpective, I prefer the SD since I can Keep the CF slopt for GPS or other plug-ins. Howerver, I was wondering if the speed of a CF vs an SD.. Would I see a difference...

TIA

Although I believe the CF card slot is slightly faster - I do not think that in "day-to-day" operation you will notice much difference.

I agree with your logic of a permanent SD card and swap out CF cards (in fact that is what I do on my 2210 ).

I do the same thing as well. Any programs that I load on the storage card goes to SD. I do keep the CF card in my slot but it is easily removeable since the CF card has movies on it. It makes my h2215 very enjoyable to use.

I think SD for data and CF for 54k modem, utms modem, or other hardware. When not used additional for data (to play your digi camera i.e.) is my way of life too !

I will say having tried it that theres not an appeciable differenc between a regular and an ultra card though, unless you intend to also use it in a digital camera. There doesn't seem to me to be the speed benefit to warrant the extra price when using it only in a PDA.

The only thing I would say is that if you expect to delete and copy music/ movies etc to the card often and will use a USB2.0 Card reader on your PC - you will notice a difference then - but not when it is actually in your 4700.

I have just ordered the 1G Sandisk Ultra II CF card and will use this card for my movies. I use a 512 SD for my programs.

I haven't heard any reason why it wouldn't
