4700 card memory question
I now have a 1 gig SD card and a 1 gig CF card in my 4700. Is it oK to have both in at the same time? Also THe reason I got the CF was I heard it was faster to have my programs on CF than SD and that SD was better for storage. What is the best way to move the programs to the CF card From the SD. Don't tell me I was wrong not to get a card reader that wouldn't do CF cards! I did try to put everything from my sd card to my computer then transfer via active synch to the CF card but it didn't work. Thanks.

-Yes you can have them both in at the same time.

- it is best to uninstall and reinstall programmes when you want to move them due to registry issues.

- "Don't tell me I was wrong not to get a card reader that wouldn't do CF cards! " - can you clarify this statement there are four negatives in it (don't, wrong, not, wouldn't) and I am struggling to understand what you mean - does your card reader read CF cards or not?

By the way - in normal PDA use there probably really isn't much difference in storing your programs on the CF card vs on an SD card in terms of speed. The exception may be if you are using high-speed cards (of either type) then there might be a small improvement when doing a lot of file moves, but in general you won't notice much difference regardless of which card you install things to.

I agree with cgavula, there would not be much different at all if your programs are on the SD card or CF card. However I would recommend that the programs be put on the SD card. Typically the CF slot is faster in terms of throughput. It is better for songs and movies, not saying that you can't get a fast SD card.
