I just bouht tweaks2k2 and downloaded. Then I saw that I downloaded a version for English ROM. I use the German hx4700. Do I need a version for German ROM?

If you're a new-enough user that you bought v2.9 (lucky me), the registration key is the same. 2.8 and older will need to get a new key.

I got the info from the Tweaks people, that the Englisch ROM also works with the German ROM.
I am working with it, all seems ok.

Yes that really sucks. I purchased from Handango on 11 Nov 2004, its now 10 Dec 2004. I had the product for less than a month and now it's useless.

I don't know how to get a new key from Handango because the poor support on the Tweaks 2K site doesn't say. I cannot get a new key from the Tweaks 2K site because I brought from Handango.

If this is the way that registered customers are treated then I am dismayed. Do you really get more registered customers (rather that pirates) by treating them in shuch a shoddy fashion.

Doesn't sound like Cititanic

Also how is the product useless - presumably all the tweaks that were available when you purchased the product are still available to you and working?

It's useless because it says my 29 day old registration code is invalid and then all the menus are greyed out. Nothing works as far as I can see. The only live options I am offered are soft or hard reset.

Relax, attached is a link where you can get a new registration key. From what I have read some low life broke the registry software and is ripping off the product. He had no choice but to require people to get a new registry key.

Actually, if purchased at Handango ctitanic is saying that you have to get a new code from Handango or go to the back of the bus waiting for one from him. Poor support in my book, since he's the one benefitting overall anyway, but his claim is that Handango takes a cut so you're on your own. There's a rather heated thread on brighthand in regard to it. Poor business practice in my eye. I'll never buy another product from him.

I rather flamed Citanic over this, unjustly I hasten to add. He pays 40% of the fee to Handango for them to provide an upgrade service for both the developer and the customer. It seems that they are delivering neither. It may be poor business practice, but on whose part?
Presumably Citanic now has to provide upgrade codes to his customers as well as customers who he has paid handango to look after.

Actually It looks like on Handango's site they say support is provided by the developer.. I guess that it's a pretty grey call as to who's supposed to be supplying the code. I think that Handango functions as a reseller, and any dispute that citanic has with them over supporting his product should be between him and them personally and shouldn't have to affect all of us. I know I requested my code from Handango several days ago and have yet to see any response. Looks pretty much like a standoff to me with us in the middle. As to the 40% I'd say he's allowing them to sell his software, so I guess that's an agreement he accepted.

Why would you have to repurchase it? I bought Tweaks back in October and ctitanic personally sent me the reg code...when I did my hard reset on the weekend, I downloaded from the pccounseler site (v2.9) and the key didn't work - I email Frank and within an hour I had a response saying I'd need a different key - he emailed it to me and boom it worked

Just upgraded to v3.0 and no probs there - very nice looking for us VGA users now too

I think that the issue is not that it has to be repurchased, but that ctitanic is balking at issuing keys when the product was purchased at Handango or Pocketnow because of some reseller agreement that he has in place with them. If you purchased direct he's issuing the new keys but if you purchased from several resellers he's sending people back to them instead and they don't seem to respond
