GPRS Internet with NOKIA 6230
Hi,

Anyone finding issues losing the GPRS modem connection with NOKIA 6230 phone. I had no issues with SE T610

I have updated the BT software..the phone does appear in the BT list as a nokie 6650 but it connects.

Once its connected it will disconnect within a minute or so.

Any advice?

Thanks

I have had problems with getting internet connection set up between the nokia 6230 & my 4700. I did not update anything to get the phone listed (where do you do that from ?)

Actually it paired with the device fine but I just couldn't get internet connection via phones GPRS to work. I am with O2, anyone able to help ?

David.

Install the BT update program from your companion disk and get the updates...they may contain the BT phone manager profile for your phone.

I used BT phone manager, selected BVRP Mgr profile from the advanced tab in networks and off it went.
Try that!

I have a Nokia 6230 also. BT Phone Manager does not list and also fails to detect a modem when trying to manaully configure. Can't seem to work out how to run a 'Live Update' as suggested.

Would welcome some help too.

Hi Guys,

Your problem might very well be the 6230.
We have it as the standard phone where I work and I've seen a lot of problems getting this phone to connect to iPAQs via bluetooth, and also it has problems connecting to laptops via infrared if that laptop has had another Nokia modem installed before.
The 6230 is a very rushed to market product and what usually fixes the connection problems is a firmware update.
If you key in *#0000# you will get a screen showing firmware, I don't remember 100% but I believe versions from 4.23 and up is fine, if its an earlier version take it to the dealer for an update.
