About 3mm

The CF TypeI is thinner - but can be used in a TypeII slot, TypeII cannot be used in a TypeI slot.

- it depends on the speed rating of each card.

Other than that - there shouldn't be any difference as the limiting factor will be the CF throughput on your machine.

Which reminds me of the fear that I feel every time I see that 3mm gap on the top of my iPaq when I have a CF card inserted instead of the placeholder
