Software support beyond belief - SBSH
OK, this is the best support I have ever received on anthing to do with computers.

I have been eyeing Pocketbreeze by SBSH. I send a question regarding support for true VGA on 4700. Response in an hour, gives full info.

I download trial version. Works well, but because I always run hacked true VGA (ozVGA) the icons are too small. Email back to the software author (Amit Regev)....some back and forth re details of problem. A few hours later - he emails me link for a new version with revisions specific to my concern. I download. It works perfectly. I now have good size PB icons on my 4700.

Most of this back and forth with the developer took place BEFORE (!) I bought the software.

At the end of it, he thanks me for "helping him".

Those of you who have been involved with SBSH and PB of course know Amit's incredible customer responsiveness. I saw this as I was reading through the SBSH forums. But to think that he would go to all this trouble for a not-paid-yet user boggles the mind.

Of course I have bought the software - it really is a very slick today screen replacement with WAY more functionality than our regular Today screen.

In general, I have to say, again, that the community and sellers here are amazing. I have had awesome similar experience with others (Mark from Rhinocode deserves a special mention, the Boxwave people just a few days ago with the Styra stylus they are fixing for free, and many others over the past 2 months, not to mention all the very friendly users).

Kudos to all concerned.

It's great to hear experiences like this in the PPC community, posts like this really play a significant role in which software I purchase.

I agree that the folks Amit at SBSH is great. You mentioned Boxwave and I concur. I would like to mention Alek at Web I.S. (PocketInformant) to the list of developers keen on customer service/support.

I have had tremendous customer service from Boxwave, Pocket PC Techs, RoadWired and in a category all its own, Pocket PC Magazine. I received a typical "your subscription has expired" e-mail from Pocket PC Magazine a couple of weeks ago. I was puzzled to be getting such a message because I had renewed my subscription back in September, so I replied to the e-mail saying that something must be wrong. I received a personalized response back from PPCM within 5 minutes. Within 20 minutes, I received a telephone call from one of their subscription people and my problem was solved. Now that's customer service

I always make it a point to thank people both in verbally and in writing when I am given superior customer service. Good customer services is hard to come by, and I think that those who take it seriously should be recognized for it.

Nice to hear an excellent report about support from a software firm I purchased from. Warning: XM Radio has the worst support I've ever encountered.

Hi,

Its in the developers best interest to offer good service....Both Quality and service are key to the survival of every business....Forums like this help them on their toes by providing excellent feedback on products and suppliers. How many people are likely to buy XM radio after reading this thread????

The guys at SciCalc are also worth a mention for their great support...and for producing a great calculator that looks and feels like a good old fashioned Casio machine
