Crashing when charging
My 4700 has a strange problem - I want to know if anybody else's unit acts the same.

It works fine when running on battery and for about the first 10 minutes when charging. After 10 mins or so, the bluetooth/wifi and the charging lights will go out, usually when the unit is tapped lightly or moved. Also the battery status bars in power management will completely disappear. At first I though it may be a loose connector in the battery pack but when running on battery I have taped and wobbled the bettery and it all keeps working.

To get wifi working again I have to turn wifi off and back on again. Likewise to resume charging I have to cycle the power to the charger. It works fine with the charger plugged in to the unit but with the charger not switched on.

It also acts the same when plugged in to the docker.

Any body seen anything like this before?

Thanks,

Mike

It seems a problem related to certain conditions. Most of the time, problems like this are software generated.... See if this happened after you installed a new software....

Another option, is to backup your Ram using the backup option in Activesync. Hard reset the units and see if this happens.... If it still happens than you may have a hardware problem.... If it does not, than it is clearly a software problem...

You can re-install everything using the restore option in activesync

good Luck
