I just broke my seagate st1. I had it in my hand when switching between to CF-cards and i dropped it from about 1m (5feet?) heigth on one of the corners and it stopped working...
Is there anything i can do with it to fix it or is it completly broken?
Ok, how is it with the retail MD's that you can buy at the store? Are they as sensetive as the ST1? Also will Seagates ST1 retail be this sensetive to?
How is it with CF, should i buy a solid state memory instead maybe? I dont plan to drop then that often but you get a bit frustrated when you buy a MD for $250 and drop in after 1 month and its broken.

Solid state memory cards are much more resiliant than Microdrives (as they have no moving parts.
I have to say though that yours is the first MD that I have actually seen to have broken
Remember, you are at the cutting edge of technology here. How often do you lose a 3.5 inch HDD. How they can even make a disk so small amazes me, let alone make reliable. I work in IT and we lose disks all the time. S'pose thats why they came up with RAID.
Its ripped from an Creative Rio (i think), its bougth from the states and i live in sweden, so first of all it would be a big hassle to send it back, and second of all i think the warrenty is voided if i open the product

Yeah if it is ripped out of something else then I don't think it is advisable to send it back
