Memory Management
Hi folks.
Where do you set the memory divider slider (data / programs) for optimum performance? I have mine set for 32MB data and 32MB programs. But also with very few programs running, those 32MB shrink quite fast. Is this normal? In this case 64 MB of RAM are not that much. Also my iPAQ says that it holds 13 MB of data. But i can not figure out where?

Unless I need to have more memory for a particular applciation I generally leave the hx4700 to work it all out for itself. Occasionally you might need to kill (close) and applciation (especially i you have problems opening bluetooth).

Ctitanic's tweaks2k application help you manage the memory more efficently - i.e. you can have all attachments and IE cache and Avantgo files stored to you iPAQ file store or a CD/SD card. I have is all stored to my 2Gb CF card and then store practically nothing in the main memory (except MS reader files and some applciations that won't run from a different location).

I hope this helps.

In my MyPDA is a programme called "Where is My RAM" it is a little freeware app - if you use the programme it will tell you what is using your memory

Actually your MyPDA is fantastic. A superb idea to communicate it that way.

Glad you like it

It helps when posting just to refer to it so that I don't keep having to go and get links

Rob,
I just installed WIMR 1.2. Man, what a nice piece of application. I will try some other apps from your MyPDA-List.

Exactly!! I am working on mine. But how can I use bold or color fonts in MyPDA? And how do I enter links? In the editing section of MyPDA there are no format buttons or so.

On the left hand side there is a link which says vB code is on - if you click on that it will give you the parameters you need to format your code.

Rob,
Actually I found a more convenient way to write the MyPDA. I use the message editor from "Reply to Thread" where I have all the formatting controls. Then I copy and paste it into the MyPDA text field.

It can actually be easier than that.

Open my MyPDA and then in your browser go to View>Source

If you then scroll down you will see ALL of my MyPDA and you can copy and paste that (I was just testing to see how long it took you to work it out).

BTW you can do the above with ANY website.
