Reminders Not Working at all on 4705
Is anyone else having probelms with Reminders Not Working At All on your 4705?

I've checked and re-checked settings for Sounds and Notifications, reminders, etc....

Would a Hard Reset possibly fix this?

I can set up an alarm and it works correct. But Calendar Reminders won't work. This sucks.

Possibly - but first I would make sure that all my settings were correct - and I had a reminder set for my appointment (it is sometimes the simplest things).

I've checked and re-checked all settings (everything) and REMINDERS will NOT WORK. Alarms work but not calendar reminders. I hate to do a hard reset on this 4700 - I've only had it for 5 days - but that's my last resort. Very disappointing for a NEW product.

I wonder what 3rd Party software you had installed. A hard reset basically removes everything in RAM and starts from the beginning. I have heard cases where some 3rd Party software may break reminders. I can't recall what the software could be however.

Settings are all the same - as they should be. The H R didn't change any settings, it just unlocked the reminders somehow.

4705 does seem a bit more zippy since the H R, so maybe it just needed a fresh start. I'll reload my programs tomorrow and let you know if everything is still working.

Thanks

Calendar reminders stopped working.
My alarms and reminders (in PI) have always worked fine but recently my 4700 totally locked up with a blank screen and wouldn't even accept a charge. Eventually after a couple of days it miraculously started to charge again but I had to do a restore - since then my regular alarms work but my reminders in PI won't do a thing. I'm still running WM2003SE and don't see any reason to up/downgrade - can anyone think of a suggestion before I have to hard reset to get my reminders back?

I had that issue on my Smartphone. From what I understood, it was related to ActiveSync. What ended up fixing it was setting the time to one minute ahead, then setting it back. Has worked fine ever since. Not sure if it would work with the iPAQ, but I would imagine it would.

Wish I would have seen this before you did the hard reset.. Ah well.. Would have been interesting to see if it worked or not..

EDIT: Doh.. Old post, but I see Barry brought it up.. Barry, give that a shot and let me know.. I'm interested in seeing if it fixes it for you or not..

Thanks for the suggestion - I tried the time trick and when it didn't work tried it followed by a soft reset but still no joy. I think I'll have to go for a full backup, hard reset & restore and hope that does the trick. I use the 4700 at work and the reminders have always been a godsend. When I synchronise I get the alerts flash up in Outlook on my PC so it's PDA related - possibly a Pocket Informant query so I might pop over to their site.

If you go under the PI menu, one of the items is a Utilities drop down menu. The first item at the top of this menu is "Recreate Alarms". When I had the problem described in this thread, doing this fixed the problems and didn't require any resets or playing around with the system time.

Good luck

Thanks Adrien - I gave that a try but still no luck, it was the sort of thing I thought was in PI but unfortunately didn't work.

Try removing your battery for 30 seconds. This should not cause a hard reset, but should reset your hardward.

Thanks to everyone for keeping the suggestions coming but the battery trick didn't work either. I thought I'd try opening the standard calendar app and trying a reminder in there but that won't open so perhaps the problem runs deeper than I thought - I've never used the standard calendar function as PI runs rings round it.
