Syncing problem with a 4700
Hi
I am having problems syncing my hx4700 with Outlook 2003 running on windows XP.....Everything syncs fine (contacts notes etc) except calender items....I get unresolved issues which I am unable to clear...it says that it is unable to read from the outlook calender due to an 80XXXXX error..Microsoft's website says that it is a corruption issue (and is completely vague on solutions) I have tried to delete all calender items and start fresh....No matter what I do, events/appointments from the 4700 or from the PC immediately flag as Unresolved...
I have used scanpst.exe to repair my PST folder...It says that errors were fixed...BUT STILL NO SYNCING......
Starting a completely new set of Outlook personal folders is really difficult as Outlook stores personal account/settings/info in multiple locations

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Have you gone to the MS website and applied the Service Pack (I always fond that this corrects these issues).

Also have a look at point 2 on this site - HERE

Rob,
Thanks for the info...the website you provided helped.....I am now able to replicate the problem....Basically, I get error messages if I try and sync when Outlook is not running.....Is this normal....Is there a security setting somewhere that I need to alter to grant Activesync permission to access Outlook?

Thanks
Jason

microsoft is a bit vague ?
if microsoft was interested in fixing it, they would have done it right the
first time...

why dont you try making outlook express your default mail pgm, and try to sync
with that. if it works, import your stuff frm outlook into it and go with it.

Outlook Express DOES NOT work with Activesync so that is a non-starter.

Jason - Have you applied the service packs from the MS website yet?

Jason,

I suggest you try the following:

1. Create a new pst file as your mail outlook file and restore ONLY the calendar folder to that.
2. Delete your current partnership (be careful with the file folder)
3. Create a new partnership to see whether the syncing worked
3.1 when asked about duplicated entries, you can try to overwrite the PPC
3.2 if sync the calendar worked, then you can try to restore the other items (contacts, emails, etc..) to the new mail file

I think the problem is due to the pst file you are currently using.

I hope this might help.

There must be somewhere that does Snow Report in RSS format (which you could use PocketRSS for) - just a thought

(I haven't seen snow reports in any of the standard weather programmes - that is why I suggested an RSS feed).

I managed to solve the syncing problem... I was running a phonetools program for a Motorola V3 phone....The Outlook add-in was causing a conflict...which was why I could only sync when Outlook was already running
