If you could ONLY have 3 applications on your hx4700 . . .
What would they be?

I must admit, as a newbie, I'm trying to soak up as much info as I can, but I'm dizzy trying to keep everyone's "MyPDA" straight.

I'm interested in finding out what the experts feel are the best of the best. I've seen all the websites and the awards, but again, it is hard to keep straight.

I'm interested mainly in PIM, ipaq management and productivity apps. I have control of the games . . .

Please, also explain what the application does and why it is to die for.

Thank you in advance and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Assuming Pocket Informant doesn't count since it's in ROM...

Pocket Breeze : brings your PIM data to your Today screen and more!

PlanMaker/TextMaker (I bought them together so they count as one : Pocket Word and Pocket Excel replacements that actually work like their desktop counterparts.

ListPro : A list program on steroids. It is a borderline database app.

Gotta give 2nd props to Pocket Breeze,

2. SPB Plus - Turns your today screen into a desktop with quick access to anything on your pda

3. Dinarsoft Memmaid - a system maintenance program great for scanning the system, cleaning, a few minor tweaks, start up control, ie cache, etc.

No question..........
1. Tweaks 2k2: (So many Hacks they will call you an Ax Murderer)
2. Betaplayer: (Hands down, No Competition for a Movie Player and it is FREEWARE..... wow what a concept!)
3. Memmaid: (The best System clean up tool on the market)

I use these applications daily, and although I use others these three programs would be the Cats Meow. However here are some honorable mentions:

A. Netfront 3.0 (The best Web Browser that I know of, could have been No. 3)
B. Tdlaunch and Journal Bar (Both are excellent Today Screen Plugs)
C. I.P. Dashboard & Pocket WinC (Both are Wi Fi Monitor and Connection Mgr.)
D. Pocket Music (Excellent MP3 Player)

1. Pocket Informant - Best PIM out there. Used daily and depended upon always.
2. PocketPlus - Got to have some way to control program closing, opening and general PPC stuff.
3. PocketBreeze - If you use Pocket Informant, you'll want this program. I've even included ContactBreeze to further enhance my ease of info management.

These are what I consider must have titles but don't restrict yourself to just 3 and ask about the top ten programs. Then you get a list of what might be pretty much the same on most PPCs today. Here's my rounded out list:

4. Pocket Bible
5. Quicklookup
6. Resco Explorer 2003
7. PhatPad
8. ListPro
9. SprintDB Pro
10. vxHpc

And if you wanted to round out the rest, try these:
11. HanDbase
12. Acrobat Reader
13. PhatNotes
14. Belkin GPS
15. HandList

That pretty much rounds out the stuff (other than the pre-installed programs) on my hx4700.

Have a look in my MyPDA on the left.

The three I use the most are:

- PocketInformant/ PocketBreeze/ ContactBreeze (I see and use these as one).
- Betaplayer (whatever the latest unstable version is).
- iLauncher2

(Also my machine would be a lot less interesting and useful without WisbarAdvanced - it is so ubiqutous that I usually forget it is installed ).

It is impossible, I'm sorry. I would never pick three because I have about 10 must-have apps. Almost every app listed I like, though, I'd just have a lot more. I also like Volleyball, as talked about earlier, Beta Player, Pocket Informant, Text Maker, etc.

Top 3:
- Pocket Informant
- Battery Pro to launch my apps. Nice and simple
- Wisbar Advance to close my apps completely

If I had 3 more to choose:
- eWallet for my gazillion passwords
- MyNavigator GPS
- Tweaks2k2
