Copying digital pics onto my 4700
I would love to copy my digital pics from my home desktop onto my 4700 and use it as my portable album viewer. However, all my digital pics are over 1MB each. Is there anyway to do some sort of a "automatic batch reduction" on my pics without having to manually reduce each pic individually?

Welcome to the site Johndoe,

I use Resco Photo Viewer (phenominal program!)

It allows you to reduce the size of the images all in one action from the desktop photo album generator. I'm not sure how much it shrinks them, but works great for me.

You may also think about picking up a memory card, they're so inexpensive these days. That way you won't have to worry about size. I got a 1gb CFII card for $70, once everything is loaded, programs, pics, files, etc, I still have 300mb free.

Good luck!

If you are running Windows XP, then search the Microsoft web site for:
ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

This is a great free tool for resizing images, and is called up with a right click.
You have a number of options, and can either resize the original image - or create a new copy of the image that has been resized.

Hi Rob,

You can not select a directory folder and resize its contents, but you can select some or all image files within a folder and resize them all in one go.

It works very fast!

The default resize options are:
Small (fits a 640x480 screen)
Medium (fits a 800x600 screen)
Large (fits a 1024x768 screen)
Handheld PC (fits a 240x320 screen)

Or you can click on the [Advanced] button, and define your own image size, and choose if you want to resize the original image and not make copies.

That's what I use and it works great, and its free.

Here's a link simply right click on any image and resize. Looks great, can't wait to try it.
