XCPUScalar 2004
I know this may be better suited under the software forum, but I'm looking for comments as they relate to the 4700. I have found that with all my software my 4700 has slowed down on performance and refresh times. Can anyone comment on this software, XCPUScalar 2004 by ImmierSoft LLC ? Are the speeds of my unit something I shouldn't mess with?

Keep in mind you do so at your own risk and at the expense of voiding your warranty.

Have you thought of doing a hard rest and reloading your system with what you want? This would give you a fresh start and you would most likely see a performance increase.

Ya, I've done the hard reset. Just salivating at the thought of driving a Ferrari. I am truly happy with the speed of my machine, just thought if there was no risk it would be nice. Thanks for the input, I'll leave that software.

Just to add to this thread. I found overclocking very unstable. There were apps that would run fine all day like Morphgear, however most others lock within seconds. I have uninstalled it, more hastle that its worth.

Overclocking on the 4700 isn't as stable as it was on previous PPCs.

Some devices may be more stable than others, but it isn't stable for me so I gave up on it.

No harm in trying it out, XCPUscalar is pretty safe, I ran my previous 2 PPCs overclocked 24/7 with no problems.

I had issues with versions before 2.85. the current one works fine scaling from 416 to 663, except with BetaPlayer (on my machine) which crashes occasionally

Might want to try XPUScalar's "Autoscale" feature. It basically scales processor speed (lower and higher) based on the workload of the processor.

I always have it on autoscale, from 416-520-624 and 663 above 70%. BetaPlayer crahses sometimes...but everything else is fine. In general, its a very good program
