I seem to have a problem when charging my 4700 on the ac adaptor..not long into the process the device will 'lock up/freeze' while charging on ac power on the docking cradle. I try to soft reset but without success. Only a hard reset will resolve the issue but I will be required to pair the device to my laptop again in order to sync. this has happened several times. HP have replaced both the cradle and AC adaptor but the problem persists. There appears to be no problem when I charge using the USB option alone. Any thoughts ???? Gregj

A few quick questions before we try to solve this one.

When you use the 4700 in its cradle is it secure does it wobble?
Have you noticed any particular pattern to when it locks up ie. a set time 10 mins etc.
Do you use the same usb cable with an adaptor when it doesn't lock up?
Do you leave this combination for the same amount of time as when it is in the cradle?
If not are you using the same usb port?

Thanks H..yes 4700 appears secure in cradle..no apparent movement..seems to lock while on cradle and charging about 5 to 10 minutes into process. Use the same cradle and adaptor each time and there isnt a time when it doesnt lock. I can avoid lock up as I mentioned by charging through the USB cable option alone ie without ac adaptor attached. I have experienced the same problem with replacement cradle and adaptor. I have tried using a different port but without success. Gregj
