microdrives/4700/superglue?????
OK I have the microdrive (hitachie 4gb) sitting idly on the desk and I've ripped several movies but havent card readered them to the microdrive because I want to know a sure fired way of removing the microdrive from the 4700 before I insert it.
Here is a thought I want everyones opinion on:
On the smooth flat face of the microdrive that presents itself to you after inserting into the iPAQ could one not apply a very very small droplet of superglue to each side and then place a small piece of plastic with a thin edge onto each droplet.
Of course this would be done using a magnifying glass with the microdrive out of the 4700.
The two pieces of plastic, equi-distant on each side would allow a fingernail (and not much more) to be slid under each and give some grip on each side for removal.
Your thoughts please.
Robert

forgot to mention
forgot to mention that i read the fine print in the literature that came with the microdrive....it mentions that the device should not be used in devices that do not have an ejection mechanism....should that be a concern?
thanks to all for any reply

instead of the tricky surgery you are suggesting why not try this instead...cut a length of sellotape (or equivalent) and attach to either side of the microdrive - voila, an instant "tab" to enable you to easily remove the microdrive from the 4700

At least if you need warranty service, tape is removable....

All I need to do to remove my hitachi is first remove the SD card then grip the microdrive with your fingers and pull. It takes a few tries to learn how to grip it just right but now I can pull mine out very easily.

I chew my finger nails and have absolutely no chance of gripping the microfrive.....a tab of duct tape is perfect for the fumble fingers brigade, like myself

a litttle bit of tape used to form a tab makes it easier to "yank" the microdrive out - thats all!
