Is GAPI needed on WM2003SE / hx4700?

I see several places recommend I install GAPI for games, but the versions I find for download seems old. Do I really need this on the 4700?

YES......Unfortunately Picard doesn't seem to want to make one for the hx4705. Right now the only VGA PPC GAPI drivers out are for the X50v and LOOX 720. I gues he hasn't deemed our ppc worth of gaming. So don't try installing the current GAPI drivers out or if you do back up first because it craps out the ppc and makes video load really slow. But yah, without a GAPI driver the hx4705 now scores as the lowest GAPI PPC made in years.

yah but you can still play most games on it without problem. But not Pocket Quake !
