Wireless connections to home network
Hi folks and Happy New Year,

After much prevarication and a few posts here a couple of months ago I now have my 4700. I am very pleased so far. I have managed to establish an internet connection via my BT phone but cannot seem to get wireless working. I want to connect to my home network for internet access/e-mail and wireless synching if possible. I have a Buffalo airstation with x-modem. I have the MAC filter enabled on the network but have registered the IPAQ with the Airstation and have the airstation set up to run at either 802.11g or b speeds so I don't think the problem is at the Buffalo end. The Ipaq is recognising the network and the wireless button goes green but I can't get any further than that. I am sure it's something to do with the settings but am not sure which to choose particularly as far as the "My Work Network" or "My ISP" options are concerned- or do I need so set up a new "Home" network in settings?? I have found the manual a bit lacking especially for someone like me who is not familiar with all the jargon like "proxy settings" etc!

Any and all advice much appreciated

Cheers
Alastair

Work through the settings in Ike's wifi guide (linked in my MyPDA on the left).

The simple things...
Thanks Rob- very useful. Of all the stupid things I had put the WEP code in upper case instead of lower! Works fine now
