CAB, ARM,ARMV4,MPS,SH3.DAT..oh my!
my fellow ipaqer,

can someone explain these extensions for me:

CAB, ARM,ARMV4,MPS,SH3.DAT

i am trying to install some ppc programs and they're in the above formats. which one of those do i install..ALL OF THEM? what's the diff between them. why do program designers make life so difficult for people like me

Haz, instead of getting wrapped up in all the confusion(agreed), concern yourself with ARM/XScale and CAB. Typically an ARM/XSCALE file will install a program from a setup file on your computer, as you would install any other program on your PC. Difference is that at the end it will prompt you to install into your PPC. A CAB file is an executable file that can be transferred to your PPC and them unpacked and installed from there. Thereby not installing anything to your PC.
