FAT 16 or 32
In my endless quest to know more and find the "optimal configuration", I have found that I can use either FAT 32 or 16 on my SD and CF cards. What is the advantage of either...I admit I am very behind in understanding windows file system structure.

It seems to be FAT 16 is faster overall. Look in http://www.core-sound.com/CF-and-SD...comparison.html and see what they have to say.

I believe the trade offs are speed (Fat16) vs more efficient use of space (Fat32). If you are considering storage devices greater than 2gb, I believe you have to use Fat32.

When I tried using either a 512mb or 1Gb Sd card in either 4700 or SmartPhone _ i needed to use FAT32 as with both aftre mutlile file they told me the cards (different makes) were full even though they were only part used. Reformated with FAT32 and no problems then.
