help: Microsoft eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime
Pocket IE opens with error message:
The application you have launched requires Microsoft eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime to be installed.

to download the required file, please tab here.

please refer to the PPC 2003 help documentation to learn about other ways to obtain these files.

--> refering to the above error message, i found out some programs would not work but instead display this message, can someone teach me how to install the needed program? or how to get about it...

Best Regards~

PIE doesn't require the eVB runtime, in fact the eVB runtime is now deprecated (in favour of VB.NET). Is it possible the home page is set to something with content that requires this?

no no no,
its not about running PIE,
its about running other programs which lead to PIE being openned and the error message above displayed in PIE.

I ran into the same problem and downloaded the software from the link above. It downloads as a zip file with no "setup" file or anything. Where do I install all of the files from the download? There are 38 files.

Kendra,

You don't open up the cab file, instead you will have to copy it to the Pocket PC, either using the "ActiveSync -> Explore" or use the File Sync.

Then in File Explorer on Pocket PC or other explorer alternative, such as Resco File Explorer, tap on the .cab file, it will automatically install eVB runtime on the Pocket PC.

Then the application should work.

PS: Other software setup has .exe extension which enables you to install it from the PC to Pocket PC; but .cab can be installed directly from the pocket pc.

Hope this gets the problem sorted out.

I am trying to install the embedded visual basic and having some problems on my h1940. I tap on the cab file and get the following error message on my ppc: "the file"\my documents\msvbppc.armv4.cab" is not a valid windows ce setup file. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
