Unable to assign Photos in Pocket Informant
I would like to assign photos to my contacts in Pocket Informant. When I click on my contact and then on the photo icon it takes me to a window where I can choose a folder where I can retrieve the desired photo. I click on the folder and its name re-appears in the space below but says "\SD card\PICTURES - 0 icons" (even though I have plenty of photos stored there) and when I click on this folder and then click either OK in the top right hand corner or click on the green tick in the bottom left-hand corner, I am simply returned ot the contact entry where I had come from and else nothing happens, the defualt icon remain and at no point can I specify what file I would chosen from the folder.

Any thoughts?

(the problem is the same regarless of whether I attempt to retieve photos from an SD card or on-board memory.)

Ensure that your photos are stored as jpg files. What version of PI.
I just tried it on mine with a file from ipaq file store and it worked fine.

Once you have 'clicked' on the folder name there shouldn't be a need to click on OK in the top right hand corner - the folder should 'open' & give you a list of your photos. Highlight the photo you want & then click on OK.

If you're looking in the correct folder & the list says '0 icons' then you need to check that your photos have a suitable file extension (e.g. jpeg)

Thats the problem though! Nothing appears when I click on the folder! And they are JPEG, when I look at the contect of the SD card it lists the photos with JPG at the begining. I think I have Pocket Informant version 5.0.4.5.

Not to point out the obvious, but JPG at the beginning? You need to make sure the file extension is .jpg (and that the files are actually stored as jpg files, you can't just change the extension).

Just as a thought, have you tried moving your photos off the SD Card onto the IPaq & trying that way?

They are JPEGs (but not icons?)

Q
The photos I am using are downloaded via Activesync from my PC and they are JPEG on my PC and so I assume they are still JPEG when they are downloaed into the IPAQ (unless someone can tell me different?)

When I view the file list on File Explorer it lists the photos with a small red icon saying 'JPG' and the file name, so for this reason I still assume they are JPEGs.

And yes I have tried retrieving these photos from on-board memory and not the SD card, and it makes no difference.

But maybe most of all; why is this so complicated!?!
