CLearVue PDF and Presenter problems
In short, neither works. To wit:
1) I sync-ed a pdf file into my brand new hx4700 and tapped on it. clearvue wakes up and opens it but displays only blank pages. I closed it and tried to delete it and the system claimed a sharing violation. I had to do a soft reset before clearvue pdf would release it.

2) clearvue presenter apparently reads only powerpoint 97 presentations. so i saved a presentation on my windows 2000 machine in the nearest thing available which is powerpoint97-2000. i synced it into my hx4700 and it refuses to open saying its not compatible.

anyone have any ideas? right now i am thinking of dumping clearvue presenter and getting LifeViews flypresenter which apparently includes powerpoint display software. i would love to hear of your experiences with it.

can someone suggest other pdf readers there the hx4700 please.

many thanks

sriram, I have both programs for my 4700. I haven't used either for a while now, but remind me. Do the pdf files need to be converted by Clearvue in order to work. I've used two programs and one needed the conversion, one didn't. That could be a possible solution.

Secondly, the way I open my pdf's with Clearvue is to open Clearvue first, then File->Open. Seems elementary, but you never know.

Check out Repligo
http://www.cerience.com/products/ppc/google.htm
You can use it to convert just about any type of document into a portable format that can be viewed/shared/printed, just like creating apdf document from a MS program. Works better for me than any Clearvue SW.

Thanks for the reply. If CLearvue wants to do some conversion first I dont see where it tells you to do so. ALso, I did try opening clearvue pdf first and then the pdf but that doesnt work either!

I use PowerPoint 2003 and ClearVue works fine. I connect to my ppc through ActiveSync and save .ppt files to my sd/cf cards, then use file explorer on the ppc to navigate to the file. When I click it, it opens in ClearVue. Same thing with PDFs.

I have been using Adobe Reader for ppc for a couple of years. Then, I installed Adobe Reoder v2. What a disaster ! It didnt want to open any file bigger than 50k . then, I chucked Adobe out and installed ClearVue Pdf- Viewer. No problem. It's fast and does certainly not require any conversions.
I couldn't be happier!

Thanks everyone for all your help. I have to believe something was wrong with the ppt and the pdf i tried first time. i tried a couple of others and they work fine. in particular i just used a powerpoint 2003 file and it opened very well, including tranistions, in clearvue. similarly i took another pdf and it opened up fine. but the two files, one ppt and one pdf i tried originally dont work and i cant figure out why. but i dont care :-)

thanks again

I had a Similar problem today. I tried opening a .pdf and got nothing but blank pages, so I tried another .pdf and it opened just fine.

I thought the problem might have been with the first file which was a .pdf created by scanning while the second file was created from scratch using Adobe. Haven't looked much further into it yet...

Havent had any problem with Powerpoint as of yet.

Clearvue has a problem with digital "scans" of documents. For example, if you use an HP digital scanner to scan a document to a PDF, Clearvue tends to barf up on it. Two that I found worked for me are:

Ansyr and Adobe

Good luck!
